Bear Lake turns white at night?????

by Penny
(Woodside)

I heard this from a friend of mine, that Bear Lake in Idaho is a gorgeous turquoise blue by day but turns white at night? Is she pulling my leg? If it truly does, what makes that happen?

Answer

I've got to admit, you've got me on this one. I've never heard of this. I've talked to a couple people. My father-in-law was born and raised in Utah. My wife's family has had a cabin up Logan Canyon - just below Bear Lake - for decades. None of them have heard of this. I'll add an update if and when I find an answer.

Has anyone reading this got an answer?
